Welcome to the AB Properties monthly newsletter!
Just the previous edition of this newsletter I referred to how we react to drastic economic, political, health and natural disasters, and only a few weeks later KwaZulu Natal was once again hit with another tragic disaster. These events and the ripple effect that results from them are far reaching, and however we have become extremely resilient to these events in our reactions and recovery from them, a great deal of economic stress needs to be absorbed by country and individual. Properties were destroyed, business experienced immense damage, some of them having to watch their assets floating down what used to be a highway & large portions of infrastructure completely destroyed.
Just referring to Sectional Title Schemes that were partially or completely destroyed, you can imagine the immense legal and administration headaches that are now in motion and battling for reasonable solutions. This article may shine some light on the latter issues, but the importance of insurance, good legal support for both body corporate and homeowners have never been more imperative.
Over the recent year or two, the market has seen a huge increase in new home owners, many of them fairly young, and requiring to take into account the above as well as the steadily increasing interest rates. Making educated decisions is key.
