With the rising inflation and increasing interest rates it has become all the more prevalent that the demand in the rental market of the Garden Route is becoming even larger than before. Activity has been declining in the residential property purchase market as properties under R3mil. are becoming scarcer month-by-month. This has in-turn, pushed the prices up even more in most areas of the greater Mossel Bay and surrounding areas. The average family has seen their budgets become severely strained and thus renting at roughly half of the amount of the average bond repayment has become the only logical alternative.
